About the Disease:
It is derived from two Latin words; Pilus meaning Hairs and Nidus meaning Nest. A Pilonidal Sinus is a short tract which extends from skin surface and represents distended hair follicles. Average ratio of its occurrence is 26 cases per 100000 peoples. It affects men more frequently than women.
